Dottie Rambo was truly a gift from the Lord. Her songs not only minister
to hearts but touch the very souls of men. One of my favorite is
"Tears Will Never Stain The Streets." Dottie is with the Lord
now, and Heaven is a sweeter place.

Roxanne and I took a few days off for what I call the Texas independence
tour. Our first stop was in Huntsville where we visited the grave of
General Sam Houston and the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. We then traveled
to Washington-on-the-Brazos where the Texas Declaration of Independence
was signed. I hold the history of Texas in high regard. It's part of my
own history, as well. My great-great-grandfather, Lt. Col. Moses F.
Roberts, lost his right eye in the Battle of San Jacinto, and later served
in the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Texas Congresses and the House of the
Fifth and Seventh Legislatures. We met some really nice people and had a
wonderful time! Next year we plan to attend the annual convention of the
Sons of the Republic of Texas.

We had a wonderful service at Promise Land Baptist Church in Lufkin last
night. The choir from New Beginnings Fellowship was awesome! You could
feel God's presence and power in that place. Several came forward in the
Altar Call for prayer and rededication. The Lord be praised!

The easy part of pastoring is preaching the Gospel. The hard part is
laying friends and loved ones to rest. One day soon we're going to see our
Saviour. Jesus is coming in the air to gather His children and take us
home to Glory. What great shouting it will be on that day. Death will be
swallowed up in victory!

Brother Denby,
The following is a review that me and my mom posted on google's search
engine for the church. We hope you use it as well in the comments section
of your website.
Thank you,
Jeanette and Angie Brice
Thank you Brother Denby for such a personable funeral service for my
Grandfather Basey. The stories you incorporated into your service allowed
us to reflect on his personality. You made the service very comfortable
and gave it a laid back feel as Paw would want it to be. You allowed us to
reflect on his life and to laugh during a very difficult time in our
lives. You approached all of his family like you have known us as long as
you did Paw. We are very grateful that the services were held in
Huntington because everyone felt like family. Thank you to the ladies of
the church for the wonderful meal at lunch. Thank you to the Deacons of
the church for representing and taking Paw to his resting place. We
appreciate the Deacons volunteering to serve as Paw's Pallbearers and it
made it special because of their relationship with him. The service having
been on Valentine's Day was beautiful.

Thank you so very much for praying for this preacher and the Revival
services last week at Hyde Park Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. The
Lord blessed greatly in the meeting with many rededications and a man in
his early 70's was saved on Wednesday night. To God be all the glory and
praise!

The Lord has blessed greatly in the revival meetings this year. We saw
souls saved and lives changed. To Him be the glory and praise! I'm looking
forward to my 2008 ministry schedule, should the Lord stay His coming. In
addition to the three and five night revivals, I also schedule one and two
night meetings; usually on Friday and Saturday nights. This may be more
suitable for some churches. I would be thrilled and honored to minister in
your church if the Lord leads in that direction. Roxanne and I are very
proud of our granddaughter! This is Anna
dressed as a ladybug at Highway's Fall Festival last night. She is ten
months old and really loves her Pop. Brother Jason Clark and family,
Missionaries to France, will be at our church this coming Sunday night.
The Clarks are sent out by the Walnut Street MBC of Hillsboro, Texas. We
are very excited about them coming! I pastor one of the greatest churches
on earth. After almost twenty four years of ministry the Lord keeps on
rekindling the flame and pouring out His blessings, for which I'm so very
thankful.
Sincerely in Christ,
Lamar Denby

One of my all time favorite gospel songwriters and singers is Brother Odis
Bryan. He has written a lot of great songs for the Lord. My favorite is
"Don't give up the ship." For several years it was the theme
song for our radio broadcast. Some of you are fighting a battle today and
it looks like the devil is winning, but stay with the ship. Don't give up!
Keep your eyes upon the Lord and not the storm. God will bring your ship
to safe harbor. He did it for the disciples, and he'll do it for you.
God bless you, Lamar

I'm glad to be home again after being in Gurdon, Arkansas for four
days. I really enjoyed the Revival with the Red Springs Baptist
Church and Brother Mike & Anita Black. On Tuesday night the Lord
moved in the service and many gave testimonies of God's
goodness. Hearts were touched. Wednesday night a young man received the
Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour. I give God all the glory and praise!
God bless you,
Lamar
